A lot of people love to start off the summer with a pedicure. This way they can don open footwear during the warm weather without a trace of anxiety. Plus, it gives them a chance to relax and unwind while their feet are being pampered. Pedicures usually involve a foot and leg massage and you leave the salon or spa with painted toes and soft feet. The problem for many women is their struggle with a foot infection and their discomfort when going to the salon. They may be undergoing treatment of toenail fungus. Long Island pinpointe laser toenail treatment center can cure treatment of toenail fungus problems. This leaves them feeling self-conscious about others seeing their feet. If this is how you feel, consider giving yourself a home pedicure. You will get all of the benefits of pampering your feet, but you will not have to worry about exposing them and experience a technician handle them.
If you are planning an at home pedicure, be sure to gather the materials ahead of time so you are prepared once you begin. Get a bucket deep enough to fill with water and insert your feet into. Make the water sudsy with a relaxing or pleasant scent, or add peppermint scented oil which is relaxing for your feet. To start a pedicure, fill a bucket with warm water and the soap. Also gather a variety of tools for nail care, a skin buffer, and lotion. You may also want to grab some reading material like a book or a few magazines. This makes it easier to relax and read while your feet are soaking.
Once your feet have soaked for about ten or fifteen minutes, you can cut and shape the nails. This is also when you will take the skin buffer and remove a lot of the dry, dead skin that remains on your heels. Using a buffer, soapy water helps soften the skin on our feet. After these steps are complete, dip your feet into the soap water again and swish them around to remove any dust and dead skin. Then you can remove them and dry them.
At this point apply lotion. In spas, this may be the most relaxing, enjoyable step. Try a massage with the lotion at home. This is another great opportunity to use peppermint, or you can choose a lotion with a pleasant scent. Make sure all of the lotion has absorbed into your skin and that none of it remains on any part of the nail. Once the lotion is applied, it is time to add color. For summer, bold and bright colors are usually best. Typically with toes, anything goes. Women can use bright, glowing colors, or deep, dark hues. Be wild and remember it can always be removed after a few days if you tire of it. A pedicure is a wonderful way to pamper you and make the most of sandal wearing weather. Try to enjoy the experience at home.
